Topband: FB sig from W8JI 2nd Dec 0500

Hi guys, this morning W8JI was romping into Southampton on the South coast
at 9+20 for well over an hour. This
is the loudest I have ever heard a station from North America on topband.
I`ve heard Tom (and called him) many times but normally he`s just above my
average S7 noise level and he cant copy my poor signal. 
I use a TS570 100W into a T antenna which is really my 80M dipole with the
feeder strapped and tuned using the rig`s internal tuner. The vertical
section is only 40ft high. I was however very pleased when he came back to
me as there were many other Eu`s calling him. Shame I couldn`t hear anyone
else outside of Eu.....
FYI my TS570 and my FT990 both read the same for sigs from S9 to 9+40.
