If west coast are not via logpath the signals are turning 180 degrees before
they reach my Beverages because I was copying N7UA a week ago 579 on the SE
beverage and nothing to the N and NW and abt 549 on th NE one.

Marry X-Mas and happy new year

P.S. Both paths are be possible to EU, especially in the Winter Solstice
period. Usually the short path K6SE refers to is for extreme northern
Scandinavia which is in complete darkness at this time of year. For
stations further south, short path is not possible and long path is more
likely. It was very common on 80 meters from Colorado to work SM2EKM short
path well before sunrise, and then Middle East and Eastern EU long path from
about 30 minutes before to 20 minutes after sunrise. 160 probably follows the
same pattern but with signals down another 20 dB or so. Further complicating
matters, there is also a skew path to EU over JA for extreme western USA
stations. There is NO SUBSTITUTE for a good array of directional antennas
if you want to play this exotic game! de W4ZV
