Topband: EL2WW

A pleasant surprise this evening.  Happened to check spots on the Internet
(local cluster is temporarily not connected to any other nodes) about 0350z.
Saw the spot for EL2WW.  Tuned down to 1828.3 and there he was.  He was good
copy on the transmit antenna (elevated feed quarter wave vertical) but
virtually nil on the beverages.  He worked a couple of European stations and
was calling CQ with no answer!  I tuned up the amp and called. . . he
answered right back with nice signal and a clean exchange.

Other activity this evening that was copyable here in Iowa included ZS6K,
ZS6UT (worked), 5B4ADA, IV3PRK, but alas, no copy on Dave, 5H3US.
Conditions are improving!
