Greetings fellow topbanders.
I have been "whacked" by lightning induced voltages in my antennas and have
seen arcs of lightning induced voltage jump across a gap greater than one
inch in my shack to reach ground
( very impressive and scary at the same time ). does anyone know the formula
to figure out the voltage required to jump @ 1.25 inches through air that
has a relative humidity @ 60 % ??
I have been told by the radio/electrical technicians at my business that it
would probably exceed 1 Megavolt but they could not remember the formula.
thanks for your help
