Rohn (Peoria, Ill) sells the correct wire for bc stations which is No. 10
copper solid CW10S. The price vary due to market prices at the time of sale.
The dealer price is .20 per foot. Your ground system won't be inexpensive.
Some radio stations in small markets now bury barbed wire with a trencher and
vibrating plow blade to save money. It is much harder to work and will not last
as long in the ground. It is much cheaper at around 2 cents a foot or even less
in large quantities. Another alternative is to lay out a ground screen made
from expanded copper mesh or even chicken wire. Good luck in your project.
