Topband: Band opening into US west coast LP

Hi topbanders,

Was watching 80m LP opening today dec 23, starting around 1315z and was 
suprised how early signals started to be redable here in southern Sweden.
Signals of the big guns were well over S9 on my Beverage and many 
contacts were made by several Eu's.  One of the best openings I ever seen 
during my 37 years on the bands.
This opening got me to qsy to 160m and after tuning around I heard N7UA 
calling cq on 1831.3 comming up to 559.  Really amazing to hear Bob at 
this time and comming LP on my eastern Beverage.  I switched to a few 
other antennas but only the one covering up in the east direction made 
the job.
This phenomena was also happening back in 1995, but then I worked W7XR 
and N7UA.
160 IS THE BAND and this kind of happenings are rare.
