You may find some additional clues in checking out any directional
characteristics.  A small loop antenna should be fine for that. An
additional possibility is what is called the "rusty bolt" syndrome.  That is
where bad connections - say in metal fencing, etc. pick up rf from different
sources and act as  mixers - generating new frequencies (intermodulation)
and transferring modulation from one source to another (cross modulation)
and to the new frequencies too.
