Topband: Antennas

I am new to 160 meters.  I have a 120 foot tower set in the edge of a
small pond in my back yard.  I am thinking about an inverted L with the
horizontal portion over the water.  Can anyone give any suggestions as
to whether this would better or worse than fairly good conducting clay
ground?  I have a ground radial system started on the lake bottom along
with ground rods in the lake in 4 places.
