Several have commented:

"None of the links to the TOPBAND messages work!"

This has to do with an archive numbering scheme change
that was required by Y2K problems.

If an individual message link was numbered:

http://www.contesting.com/_topband/9912/0339.html

        try this instead:

http://www.contesting.com/_topband/199912/0339.html

If the monthly archive page was numbered:

http://www.contesting.com/_topband/9912/

        try this instead:

http://www.contesting.com/_topband/199912/

The problem was caused by Majordomo which used only the last
two digits of the year to identify archives. When we rolled to 2000,
the archive page for January 2000 suddenly appeared at the bottom of
the list. Jim AD1C was kind enough to fix the archive numbering problem
for all sites on contesting.com but we cannot expect him (or anyone else)
to go back and correct each individual reference. Use your heads and
add the correct first two digits to the year of any link that does not
work...(i.e. if it begins with a 9...add 19 in front)

"Last two" doesn't work any better for computers than it does
on the air! <ggg>
