Jut to remind topbanders that the Pacific 160m test is today (Saturday 15
July). For those who may have deleted the previous posting of the rules,
these are given below.
Good luck to everyone! VK6VZ will be active in the test from sunset tonight
(0930Z) until the following sunrise (2315Z) - with some breaks for sleep.

PACIFIC 160m TEST
>Next weekend (Saturday 15 July) is the annual running of the Pacific 160m
Contest, from 0700 - 2300Z. Although this is not the best time of year for
the topband, stations in Europe, Africa and the USA usually manage contacts
with Australian and New Zealand stations.

>The object of the contest is for stations in VK, ZL and P2 to make as many
contacts on 160m as possible, with other stations in these countries and
with DX. DX stations are encouraged to participate and work VK, ZL and P2
stations.

Categories: Single Operator, SWL
>>
>Modes: CW, SSB, Mixed
>
>Frequencies: CW - 1828 to 1840KHz, SSB - 1843 to 1875 KHz (Note: contacts
are not permitted in the guard band of 1840 to 1843KHz)
>
>Exchange: RS(T) plus serial number beginning at 001
>
>Score: For stations outside VK, ZL and P2 or Pacific Islands, score five
points per QSO. For Pacific Islands (i.e. VK9, ZK1) score one point per
QSO with own call area, three for VK, ZL and P2. For VK, ZL and P2, score
one point per QSO with own call area, two points for other call areas in
VK, ZL or P2, and three points for Pacific Islands (i.e. ZK1, VK9).

>Multipliers: For stations outside VK, ZL and P2, multiply score by total
number of VK, ZL and P2 call areas worked. For VK, ZL and P2, multiply
total score by total number of VK, ZL and P2 call areas worked, plus other
DXCC countries worked.
>
>Final Score: Total QSO points times total multipliers
>
>Certificates: to top scorers in each DXCC country and in each mode, call
area of VK and ZL.
>
>Logs: Please show full details of name, address, station, category, mode,
time in UTC, and exchange. Include a summary sheet and signed declaration.
>
