K1KI commented on two interference sources heard by T32B:

"There is an Australian university that is running an automated wind
shear radar on 160 that puts out a square wave on 1.885 which blankets
an entire 2 megahertz with 20 over 9 interference. In addition, there is
a pulsing transmission on 160 that is about S9."

As of late I have been hearing a pulsing noise reminiscent of the old
LORAN signals. Kind of a continuous fast clicking. It seems to peak
about 1830 and is definitely propagation related, not local. This
garbage was never very loud until the ARRL DX Phone contest when it ran
S5 for a long period and even peaked S7 at one point. It certainly
sounds like some navaid.

Does anybody else hear this? Is it the same noise as the second noise
described by T32B?
