Hi Gang

Here are a few comments received from those "brave enough" to tackle the
Ft1000/FT1000D APF modification I posted recently to this reflector. Thought
others might be interested in seeing these comments:

1ST Report - Ted KA6W
"Just finished modifying my FT-1KD as per your suggestion. IT WORKS GREAT
AND A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE! My resistor values (removed from my radio) were
18K, 330K and 150 ohms - (obviously a compromise over what Yaesu had put in
your radio). Tell everyone that it can be done in less than an hour - if
they are careful and have the right soldering tools".

2nd Report - Kare LA2GV
"It worked. The change was dramatic, much more than expected. Thanks alot
for the help."

3rd Report - Klaus DJ6RX
"IT WORKS! It really makes a big difference - I cannot understand why Yaesu
changed the circuit from the original values. R 3062 in my radio was 18K
ohms which I replaced with a 6.8K, R 3065 was 330K in my radio and I changed
it to 470K as you suggested. My radio had a 150 ohm resistor for R3067 (you
suggested 100 ohms) so I did not change this one.

Thanks alot for the hint - there is no ringing, even using the speaker. It
was really worth the effort!"

There you have it - now back to the magnifying glass, the SMT soldering tools
and the tiny replacement chip resistors!
