I have decided to make the BC Trapper a "summer" project, mainly to improve
160 operation. In comparing K1ZM's excellent construction info with ON4UN's
reprint of same, ON4UN suggests splitting the tail wire (top end of antenna)
of the 160 element into 2 separate wires (going in opposing directions, to
increase top-hat efficiency.

My question is...how much of a difference will this make...is it worth the
extra effort? Perhaps one of you has even modified your original BC Trapper
and can report the results?

My BC Trapper will have an elevated base and be about 25' from the ocean's
edge. Can I get away with a fairly "minimal" radial system since the antenna
is so close to the ocean?
