Topband: New Kenwood Rig

The new Kenwood transceiver unveiled here at the Dayton Hamvention is
still in development, but should be ready for the marketplace in 6
months, Kenwood says.

The new rig  is all-band, all-mode and the transmitter output is 100
watts on the 1.8 to 148 MHz bands, 50 watts on 440 MHz, and 10 watts on
1240 MHz.  The receiver and sub-receiver covers 30 kHz to 60 MHz, 118 to
174 MHz, 220 to 512 MHZ, and 1240 to 1300 MHz.

Simultaneous reception on two bands is possible.

TS-870S IF DSP technology has been adopted in the unit.

TNC is built-in (1200/9600 bps).

Built-in automatic antenna tuner (1.8 to 50 MHz bands) with preset
memory.
