Hello topbanders

Some weeks ago I asked for help here on the topband-reflector.
My 2-wire-beverages produced ghost-signals on 160m and 80m
every 5 to 10 kc. The reason is a bc-station on 177kc with
a 59+60dB on the FT1000D. My question was : how can i eliminate this?

I have got many recommandations on the reflector or via e-mail.
Many thanks to all omīs gave me an answer.

There were mainly three opinions:

1. my FT1000 is overdrived
2. i have to take larger cores
3. i have to build a filter into the antennawires

I tested all 3 possibilities:

1. I build a highpass-filter which supressed all signals below 1.5 mc
and put it in the receiver-coax. The signal on 177kc was now only s9
   but nothing changed.
2. I build new transformers with large cores but no success in
supressing
   the ghost-signals
3. I build 2 traps (parallel-resonant-circits) and put them in each wire
very closed to the cores. This gave the success i need!!
Now there is no ghostsignal on the low bands.

When i put a terminationtransformer on the far end of the beverage
i had the same problem again.
I made the same procedure on this end and the low bands are clean too.

I hope you omīs understand what i try to say.
