G'day from Glen Forrest,
Conditions yesterday around the VK6VZ sunrise were very promising last
night. At 0949Z, W8JI was heard 15 minutes before sunset with a RSR569
signal, a few minutes later in company with a station who later turned out
to be FM5BH, who could just be copied at about 329. FM5 from here would
have been a new country and an amazing catch.
At VK6 sunset, W8JI peaked to 599 and K1ZM was worked a few minutes later
with signals peaking RST579. At 1015Z, VE3OSZ was heard calling CQ DX at
RST 449, but could not be raised, and around a few minutes W4VQ was heard
in the JA window.
After coming back onto the band at 1245Z, N7UA and VE7BS were worked with
nice 56-79 signals, with N7UA peaking at 599.
There is life in the old dog yet.
Vy 73,
Steve, VK6VZ
