I am preparing to put a Yaesu FT-100 HF/6m/VHF/UHF transceiver in my truck.
I have the Yaesu ATAS100 antenna for 40m and up. I would like to have a
second antenna to cover Top Band and would like to start a thread re 160m
mobile. In particular, what kind of mobile 160m antennas work (relatively)
well and which do not?

I don't expect to work DX. I'd just enjoy hearing the stateside big gun
side of DX QSOs while I'm crusing around.

My truck (2000 Hummer Wagon) is built out of T-6061 aluminum (around a steel
frame) and should make a better GP than, say, a Porsche. (And a Hummer can
beat a Porsche in a race providing the Hummer driver selects the course!)

P.S. Check out the picture of KH6DX/M in the December CQ 160 Contest
article...he has the most potent mobile around and does very well DXing and
contesting mobile (from Southern California also I think)...de W4ZV
