Happy New Year to all...

This morning the band broke loose to JA just before sunrise. Logged JA1CGM
at 1206z, followed by JH0BBE, JH8SRI, and JH1RES, all answering our CQ on
1821 khz. We also heard JA0MVW on 1817. The band dropped out shortly after
sunrise (1220z).

Signals were all 449-559. What was unusual was that all were best on our
880-foot Beverage aimed at 342 degrees. Previously, our 500-foot Beverage
at about 320 degrees always has been best for short-path openings to JA.
Today some could not even be heard on the 320-degree wire.

radials.
