Hi All,
BQ9P was first copied here on 1825.8 around 1200z, listening
up 2. His signal was in/out of the noise, slowly building to
a solid 579 on the meter by 1330z. He would QSO a few JA's
and then listen up 2 again. Did not hear any North Americans
make it through. He QSY'd to 80m CW, about 1330z, and was 599
up there.
Worked them on 80m CW and asked him about 160m, and was told
to QSY to 1826. He called me on 1826.6, several times, I answered
each time, but no QSO. He was still a solid 579, armchair copy,
on a absolutely clear frequency, but no cigar.
I talked with them later on 20m SSB, Paul Pai, confirmed all our
suspicions of high QRN levels. I mentioned that the entire west
coast was calling, and also they were leaving 160m too soon. I
told them that I had QSO'd BA4RF on 160m at 1414z yesterday.
Unfortunately, I forgot to ask them about their receiving antenna
setup. Hopefully they have, or will have something up for Rx
tomorrow, and maybe stick around a bit past 1330z.
Will set the clock for 4 am again tomorrow, see you on THE BAND.

P.S. They definitely took materials for Beverages on Ground but I
don't know if they have them up yet. It may be that they were not
able to set the 160/80 station up where they wanted and thus were not
able to put the Beverages up yet...hopefully that is the case. Joe
is knowledgeable about how to put them up and which directions to
point them. On the other hand, the QRN is probably brutal as 9M0C
found a few years ago. 9M0M is very deaf on 80 also...de W4ZV.
