you may be interested to know that measured ground conductivities
in a large area of south central New South Wales (state of australia)
are consistently in excess of 40mS/m. 80mS/m is common over many
paths and i seem to recall a few of the order of 100mS/m. this is quite
exceptional of course, but definitely the case. the coverage area of 2CO
corowa 675kHz is phenomenal to the north. fairly long "cmf runs" are
needed in this instance to estimate the ground conductivity because the
rate of change of field strength close in (with respect to conductivity)
is quite small.
