Although I find the A and K mostly useless, I do see a clear trend 
that follows the Aurora level for near-the-pole paths. I use a system 
that automatically e-mails me the solar conditions in a level that 
isn't too difficult for my non-ionospheric mind to absorb.

Here is a sample of the information:

SFI:232 | A:4 | K:1 down from 2 at 1800 on 14 
November. 
SAF: moderate, GMF: quiet to unsettled

Aurora Level: 4
Solar Wind: 297.3  km/s at 3.5  protons/cm3
