Interesting observation: Listened on 160 meters at mid-day I noticed S-8
electric fence pulses. I checked the front to back on my Beverages to
determine the origination direction and was southwest. Then noticed the
signal had slow QSB. Electric fences can be / (are) spark transmitters.
Propagation is possible. My questions are: 1. Anyone experienced this
before? ................
It's been my experience that successive pulses generated by electric fence
"fencers" are not of equal amplitude.
Consequently, one listening to fence emissions will sense QSB-like varying
signal strengths over time. At least
that's what my systems (from a Southern States distributer) do.
I suspect that the fence system Bruce is hearing is located fairly close to
his QTH.
