Topband: vert & beverages

Thanks to all for input on my vertical project. The base was installed yesterday, the tubing riveted together and the coil/top hat built. I still need to install the radials and tune it up on Wednesday. Here is what it will be: 38 foot self supporting, with four 6-foot top hat spokes with a perimeter wire. The top coil is 75 uH and the base tuning coil is 10 uF. No matching network at the base because if it is fixed-tuned it will help at resonance but not at the band edges. I will tune it at the shack with a tuner. Later a motorized rotary inductor can be installed at the base.

BTW, I designed a dual-direction Beverage and have a schematic available. The Beverage is made of coax that serves as the antenna and as the transmission line for routing the signal from one end to the other. I didn't know if I could attach a WORD document here so if you want to see the schematic just ask and I'll email it directly to you.
