Hello Ray & All,
That's very interesting but in my case, I'm pretty sure that my
line noise is being received via my outside antennas. For
example on 1.800 MHz. right now, the line noise is at
S9 + 15 dB, using the delta loop as both rcv and xmit. When
I switch the antenna over to my short Beverage, the noise
drops down to S7. If I switch to an antenna that is not for
that band, such as my 40m yagi, the noise drops to S0, as
it does when I move the antenna switch to a position where
no antenna is hooked up.
Since I can pick up line noise on all bands here from 10
thru 160 meters, including all of the WARC bands, I have
found that when I rotate my yagis towards the power lines
that run adjacent to the west edge of my property, the
signals (noise) always peak when the antennas are pointed
at the power lines and they null when the antennas are
turned 90 degrees from that.
So in my case, I really doubt that an AC line filter would
do anything at all. Or maybe I'm missing something here.
