Hmmm...

I've seen a few posts about AM BC band images at frequencies evenly
divisible by 10 Khz ... makes sense, I guess, however I do not hear any
of them. Should I? I'm beginning to wonder if there's something wrong
with my receiving setup?

QTH: Auburn CA 38+56+27.9N 121+03+26.4W (CM98lw)
RIG: TS-830 (usually), FT-847 (sometimes)
ANT: Sloping Vee, Apex angle=~100 deg, Apex height=70 ft, Leg length=240
ft, Feedline=450 ohm ladder line -- apex angle opens almost due east.

I hear quite a few stations when condx are right (hardly any when they
aren't!) and do OK with the JA's and VK's ... again when condx are ok.
(JA-land is not too cool right now with the sun behaving like a teenager
and my path is over mid-KL7 country). I live on 5 acres, but
unfortunately, it is rectangular, with the long side running N-S, so I'm
not sure I could work out a beverage or two. (Also not sure the XYL
would let me string wires at chin height around the property she gardens
extensively on ... actually, I am sure so don't suggest that!)

Nearest BC stn is on 710 and is about 7 mi LOS. Rest are in Sacramento
Valley, maybe 15-20 miles away. Any ideas? Maybe this is why I haven't
made DXCC on 160 yet?
