Topband: W1WCR Beverage book

At my location in northeast Indiana the ground is very flat and highly
conductive.  According to all I've read from W1WCR and ON4UN my antennas
should not work very well.  Looking at the packet spots on top band perhaps
they don't (location, location, location)  The only reason I have found for
sloping the last 25 or so feet of the beverage is for the convenience of
using the ground rod for a tie point or anchor.  In addition, I have tried
both autoformer matching transformers and "separated winding" transformers
and can not tell any difference.  ..de gary, kd9sv
