Working a thousand miles from home Monday to Friday makes anything but
weekend operation problematic.

However, since I have now settled in at the new location with loads of room
for beverages and a BIG counterpoise, I have improved the transmit antenna
arsenal.

I just took delivery of an electric driven military weather balloon winch,
with two miles of line on the drum. More experimentation is underway on
Saturdays.

I tried the new 3/8 vertical with 100 watts in the IARU at the weekend and I
guess it works, VK6VZ heard me, I called him, but a four year old harmonic
interrupted the QSO at his end and a ringing mobile phone did the same thing
at my end.
