I can verify that Beverage work better when they are over soil with poorer conductivity. Here at my Mojave Desert home where the soil has poor conductivity, Beverages are an outstanding receive antenna. At my portable dry salt lake QTH, Beverages don't work for beans. 73, de Earl, K6SE
