Earl
Actually there is a problem with reminding people to file their comments, the
deadline for filing comments has passed. We are now in the period where you
can only file statements commenting on filings others have made. You must
comment on a specific statement made by another filer. Far too many people dont
know this and when asked to file a comment will violate the rules, this will
make it look like hams dont know what they are doing and tend to undermine
credibility for the entire amateur community.

The thing Im concerned about is the fact that the ARRL is the only large
member based organization that we have and I believe they have dropped the ball on
this.
The commission has shown recently (through recent rulings) that if helps
business at amateur expense that are more than willing to approve an item. The
ARRL needed to enlist the backing of other MF/HF users to add strength to our
concerns but didn't do so. Look at the NTIS filing, they seem unaware of the
posable effects on their MF/HF systems. Their filing mentioned concerns for their
low VHF systems and then only if they were located close to a power line. The
ARRL could have raised their concerns along with other MF/HF users in time for
the first round of comments but didn't. By the way, my criticism isn't
coming from a non-ARRL member or an ARRL hater, Im a long time member.
