One question assuming that the DX should be listening out of the window, how are they to know that there isn't already somebody on the intended frequency that is too weak for them to hear?
I ask this because a number of times in DX contests I've heard a DX station in Europe on 7060 or something say "CQ contest, this frquency and 7240" but when when you go to 7240 there is a QSO between two 100 watt stations that are fifty miles away.
