The down side is that on 160 it is a lot easier to generate a signal that can 
be heard, but due to space limitations the rx side is lacking. In Europe it 
is not uncommon for two stations to be on the same frequency not hearing each 
other with long distance station calling both and not being heard. If you call 
the Dx station you are in the wrong. ( No win situation)

Still think its worth a try
