Even with 100W and  "poor" antenna( mean low height) you could work
occasionally   DX on 160m. The disadvantages of small pistol has to be
compensated by patience and the knowledge of low bands propagation.
During sunrise and sunset time your antenna could be competitive with
the vertical.
 
Is there any station that got its 160m DXCC just by using 100W and low
height horizontal type  antenna ?
