Enzo:

Someone has already said, but it does bear repeating:  when using
elevated radials, they have to be part of the resonant system, and
you will need radials cut for 160, 80, 40 or some system to bring
them into resonance.  Most of these systems have loss associated with
them.  So, if you can, it pays to use 1/4 wave radials, cut to make
the antenna work on the frequency of interest.  Many studies have
been done and it appears that two elevated radials are sufficient if
the antenna is well up.  Elevated radials, even quite a few of them,
close to the ground are severely impacted by ground effects.
