This is covered on the various SDR forums, but 160 is a really special case. 
Switching times as well as sampling times are octaves less critical than, 
say 10M.  Dynamic range is more critical in most cases.  Ringing of filters 
from noise impulses seems to be more of a factor in favor of FIR filters 
rather than crystal filters of marginal or Cheby design.  I personally think 
that the TenTec approach of filters prior to sampling will end up more 
robust, but processor power allowing spectral analysis of the whole band at 
one time could be done digitally. 

Trade-offs.....  Should be interesting once again.
