Topband: tough ladder line

I have used both the solid wire  and the stranded plastic windowed feed
line.
I prefer the stranded as it is both stronger and more flexible.
  But with either one I always thread a piece of 1/8 inch nylon rope back
and forth through the windows every 2 or 3 feet. I tie it at the feedpoint
of the antenna and on the ground I use a rubber tie down strap to put some
tension on the rope. This takes the strain off of the feedline as all of the
pull is on the rope.
