One of the most economical buys today, with excellent strength is .95
Bulk Trimmer Cord. Lowes sells an 800' Reel for $28.00 resists UV and
doesn't stretch.

Why not purchase single strand high tensile steel fence wire and break
it up
with insulators? The stuff is widely available and fairly inexpensive
at
any agriculcural supply store. #500 insulators would be ideal for
breaking
it up. If everything is securely assembled it will likely last for
decades.
