Topband: aurora opening to west coast

Hi reflectees !
160m seemed to be dead this morning and local sigs had flutter on them like hell. I went to 80m ( yes, thats in the VHF part of the spectrum ), there the band got hot around 0450 with the west coast.After getting the meter hurt by a few west coast signals, i resorted to 160 to avoid any more loud DX. Strange enough, Bob,W6RJ called in with a huge,but an auroraly distorted signal ( 0537z). He was solid but no more QSOs followed him. Seems that even on almost hopeless days there are signals present over the northern latitudes.
