         A perfect example from Wikipedia:

***********************************************
Because it messes up the flow of reading.

That's not too bad when replies are
simple one-liners as above (although I
doubt many of us like reading a story from
bottom to top), but it gets ridiculous when
replies are much longer (just imagine 5 long
messages plus headers attached instead of
5 lines as above). Top-posting is also
quite awkward when trying to address
multiple thoughts within a single attached
message.

         Please edit out the superfluous
stuff. Copy only the specific thought
you are addressing. W8JI and K6SE are
excellent examples of how to do this
right. There are now 1250 of us on
this reflector so let's all show some
common courtesy in editing our posts
for brevity and logical flow.

                                 Thanks!
