Yes it's true. In a few short hours the starting bell will ring,
ringing off the start of the Tenth running of The Stew Perry
TopBand DX Challenge sponsored by The Boring Amateur Radio Club. For you
mildly confused TopBanders that means
this weekend! The times and exchanges and rules and such are webbed at
the site below. Go there, absorb and then enjoy
one of the best radio contests available in this solar system.

Not only do we have a bunch of smart, supporting hams who donate $50 a plaque to encourage
and recognize great radio feats as listed below, we also have K1PX who is the Certificate-meister
for the Stew Perry TopBand Extravaganza. At no expense to the certificate winners, they receive
beautiful papyrus notations attesting to similar accomplishments during The Stew. Since starting
the certificate program Jim, K1PX, annually averages sending out 36 certificates to the deserving.
So if you are aced out by 1 grid square for one of the outstanding plaques you may still receive a
very cool certificate for your efforts.
This years ever expanding list of plaque donors so far include:

This is quite a list, huh? Read it carefully for there are some ground breaking categories that
have been promulgated. You, yes you, could actually win one of these plaques and have it on the wall
to impress the locals when they visit. Another impressive feat is operating in such a way as to turn
in a log with no broken information- a golden log. The Operator who turns in the highest number of QSOs
with no busted calls or information will be awarded a brand new never before worn Official Boring
Amateur Radio Club Tee Shirt that will make him/her the envy of all who see him/her in it. Vigorishly
worn and never washed massively used Club Tee shirts will also be sent to individuals or groups who
operate in ways that appear detrimental to the usual great operating found on TopBand. We haven't sent
any of these out yet and bet we won't have to.
So go drink a beverage, straighten out your beverage, turn off your alarm system and get a full
night's rest because the 10th running of The Stew Perry TopBand DX Challenge is upon us.
73 and I remain,
Lew W7EW/W7AT
