Topband: adding caps to a MV-V-A

Trying to add caps to a Nye Viking tuner to improve it's tunability (is there such a word) 
on 160.
Too short Inverted L, with too few radials. (maximum number I can put down are already 
down)

I know some people have hung some 1000pf doorknobs in the circuit.
Before I start experimenting, does anyone have some pictures or drawings they can share 
with me?
