Topband: highly variable condx

Typical of disturbed geomagnetic field... Had a nice 5 
minute peak on UK8DAN around 0100Z, 559 but once again not 
able to QSO.  Otherwise condx mostly poor from sunset til 
around 0400Z, then rapid improvement.  Good solid copy on 
V5/SP7VC for the first time, peaked at 599 and easily 
worked well before the peak.  V51AS 589 at peak, and great 
signals from TR8CA.  Suddenly EU was very loud, so I 
decided to call CQ.  Had one QSO with BIG signals, one with 
good signal, and a couple of weak ones with much QSB.  
Looked around the band and it was just about DEAD.
