5Z4DZ 30m & 160m petition
Alex 5Z4DZ seeks your support to help 5Z Radio Amateurs to gain access to
30m and 160m bands:
5Z stations regularly receive requests on the air to be QRV on 30m or 160m.
Despite the fact that amateur radio stations in all countries in this region
of Africa already have frequency allocations in the 30m and 160m bands,
Kenyan radio amateurs still need to embarrassingly apologise for the
unavailability of these bands. Over the last few years, the Amateur Radio
Society of Kenya (ARSK) has invested efforts in working with the
Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) to obtain allocations in these
Amateur Radio bands. Although the CCK is not opposed to such allocations,
the request for same submitted by the ARSK has been under consideration
for years with little or no prospect of an imminent change to the
status-quo.
The purpose of the petition is to engage the international Amateur Radio
community at large to help expedite frequency spectrum allocations in the
30m and 160m Amateur Radio bands for 5Z radio amateurs, as per the agreed
IARU Region-1 HF band plan. This is an opportunity for every radio amateur
to underscore the need for the availability for 30m and 160m frequency
allocations in 5Z. The more individual responses are gathered, the more
significant this petition will be in defining the scope of the demand.
The petition is available at the 5Z4DZ website :

Every entry and every comment collected on this petition page will be
shared
with the ARSK and the Director General of the CCK in support of this
endeavour. Your support to this cause is valued and much appreciated. Help
5Z radio amateurs to gain access to 30m and 160m!
