  There is no majic. The only majic I can think of is that most good toroid transformenrs have the primary and secondary isolated, which helps common ground problems, primarily birdies. You say link coupled, and that should take care of that issue. f Otherwise you could just use a little antenna tuner, and if birdies are not a problem, run with it.
