I think practice shows best results obtained with 2 to 4 elevated
radials is ALSO to have a well established ground radial system NOT
connected to the radiator system.

Cant remember the actual measurements that where taken but somewhere in
the range of 2-3 dB at least.

Anyone please correct me if I am wrong.
