Hi Bill,

I put the Topband Reflector in CC but it was rejected, maybe because I sent
it from my GMX account.

Thank you for putting it in.

Hi Ken,

Maybe I should not call my 390 feet receiving wire a real beverage. It had
no termination, no elevation above the ground and no 9:1 ferrite core and
Mr. Beverage would be upset about that amateur like construction.

Anyway, I had a very good transmitting antenna but nothing to receive after
the preamplifier of my well-tried Coax receiving loop was destroyed. I had
to find a quick solution and as I was not able to install permanent
beverages in the professional way (People and Cars around). I had to find a
compromise and this was my solution. I was able to listen for NE and after
23:00UT I changed it to NW. It helped a lot and was much better than no
receiving antenna at all...

With this amateur like "antenna" I was able to copy K7NN and N7DD in Arizona
and other West Coast and even JA stations.

Good luck!

Betreff: Beverage antenna

Hi Rudi DK7PE
I read your article on Topband digest Vol38 issue4 with big interest.
You mention that you laid down b-wire direct on the ground and easy to
removable.
Please kindly advise about some points of this wire,is it just sitting on
the ground? Not hang on some feet above ground? What is your termination of
far end? 450ohm resistor?
How about near end termination to connect coaxial cable? 9:1 ferite core?
Any more suggestions for constracting?
I have also some beverage wire ,but every Monday morningI have to dismantle
wire from pole(2-3m high),then next week I must hang on again in cold air
(minasu10C)to avoid any claim from farmers!! So if I can use your method I
can leave wires on the ground to save time and hard work.
I started 160m in december 2004,and I am interested in receiving
/transmitting antenna under some restriction.now 6 beverage wires but not
enough length 100-160m only, and transmit by inverted V 26mh,and always am
seeking better antenna.so your reply and suggestion will be good help.
Thank you your assistance for this matter and see you on 160m
