I love the APF on my 1000D as well.  It is a make or break
factor for many QSO's.  However, being an audio filter, you
could reverse engineer the filter in the 1000D and retrofit it
to any rig in the headphone circuit.  It would be easy to
build your own version of it either making an exact duplicate
of the 1000D circuit or just a similar one with any convenient
op amp.
