Let's see if I am following this thread.....

1.) The logs are not checked, so the exchange and operating
rules of a contest I remember working as far back as 1963
suddenly needs major changes to correct the lack of log
checking.

2.) The best time to tell everyone the logs aren't checked
is three days before the contest starts.

Am I following the logic OK so far, or did I miss something?
