Phil,

Thanks for the details of your antenna.  This sounds like a form of base 
loaded inverted L, and something I may well try here at my new 
location.  It sounds like the buried water tank made a fine ground for you.

For the stateside folks, it may not matter much, but in G-land the word 
"garden" is used to mean: Yard, or Lawn.
