The problem with self verification is that it
may not be valid. We probably all know guys who say "Yeah,
I'm on top of the Honor Roll but never submitted my cards."
On closer inspection you'll find P5RS7, 7O1YGF and 9U5CW in
their totals. I even have a P5RS7 card for 160. I know it
isn't good but some don't know that. Likewise, there were
a few surprises I discovered when I actually filled out the
application for WAJA...fortunately I had duplicates for the
ones in question.
Self verification is where our society is heading.
We have no verification in schools and wonder why our kids
don't know anything...but they all feel good about themselves
and are "all above average"...just like in Garrison Keillor's
Lake Wobegone. Just pray you don't get one for your next
surgery!
