Denny,

I agree with your comment on the VRF in the Mk V.  It's interesting
that the very expensive micro-tune filters in the newer Yaesu radios
don't seem to me to work as well.

Which of the older receivers had 2, 3, or 4 cascaded  tracking filters
in their front ends?  These must have been upscale Collins or military
receivers.
